How to reach us

Email is the most reliable way to start a conversation. We typically respond within two business days with initial thoughts and any clarifying questions.

Contact information

Email: [email protected]

Address: 47 Bramble Lane, Glastonbury, Somerset BA6 8DN, United Kingdom

Office hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 to 17:00

We don't maintain phone support. Complex ecological projects require detailed discussion that works better in writing. Email allows us to provide thoughtful responses and include relevant resources or examples.

What to include in your initial message

The more context you provide, the more useful our initial response can be. Helpful details include approximate site size, current land use, general location, and what prompted your interest in restoration or enhancement work.

If you have specific concerns like invasive species problems, drainage issues, or declining wildlife observations, mention those. If you're working toward particular goals like planning permission requirements or environmental certification, that context helps us understand your timeline and priorities.

Photos are valuable. Even basic smartphone images of the site help us assess conditions and provide relevant preliminary guidance.

What happens after initial contact

For most projects, the next step is a site visit. These typically take 2-4 hours depending on property size and complexity. We walk the site together, discuss your goals and constraints, identify key ecological features and challenges.

Site visits are complimentary for projects likely to move forward. If you need a formal assessment or detailed recommendations without committing to a full project, we can discuss appropriate fee structures during initial communication.

After the site visit, we provide a written summary outlining what we observed, preliminary recommendations, and estimated costs for services that seem appropriate. This gives you enough information to decide whether to proceed.

Geographic scope

We work throughout England, with most projects concentrated in the Southwest and Southeast regions. We occasionally take on projects in Wales or Scotland when they align well with our expertise and schedule.

Travel costs are included in service fees for sites within our primary regions. For more distant locations, we discuss travel logistics during project planning.

Working with other professionals

Many projects involve multiple specialists. If you're already working with landscape architects, engineers, planning consultants, or other professionals, we coordinate with them directly. Clear communication between disciplines prevents conflicts and missed opportunities.

If you need recommendations for related services like tree surgery, hydrological consulting, or environmental law, we maintain relationships with qualified professionals we've collaborated with successfully.

Questions we're often asked

Can you work within limited budgets? Projects can be scaled to match available resources. A complete restoration might not be feasible, but targeted interventions can still produce meaningful outcomes. We're honest about what's achievable at different budget levels.

Do you work with private landowners or just organizations? Both. We've done projects for individual landowners, estates, land trusts, local councils, and businesses. The ecological principles remain consistent regardless of client type.

How do you handle ongoing maintenance? Most restoration projects require several years of establishment care. We provide detailed maintenance protocols and can either deliver that ongoing work ourselves or train property managers to handle it. The right approach depends on site complexity and available resources.

What if the site has complex ownership or planning restrictions? We've navigated various legal and administrative scenarios. While we're not solicitors or planning consultants, we understand common restrictions affecting ecological work and can often suggest approaches that satisfy both ecological and regulatory requirements.
